Coronavirus (COVID-19) - returning to registered professional practice

If you've left the professional register within the last three years as a practitioner in the following specialisms, you'll soon be receiving a letter from your previous professional regulator:

  • registered nurse
  • midwife
  • paramedic
  • physiotherapist
  • occupational therapist
  • diagnostic or therapeutic radiographer
  • biomedical scientist
  • medical practitioner

The letter explains that you have been placed on a temporary register and can now participate in helping with patient care during the present emergency.

If you're a practitioner and are fully registered but not currently working in NHSScotland you can participate too.

You'll be paid and will be part of a supervised team.

For more information on how to get involved, visit the guidance on the Scottish Government website.
