Do you know any third year Pharmacy Undergraduates?

We’re offering a two week summer work placement.

National Procurement co-ordinates the strategic sourcing of medicines on behalf of NHSScotland’s hospitals. Responsible for a spend in excess of £400m each year, the National Procurement Pharmacy team’s role is to help ensure the right medicine is available to the right patient at the right time – and at the right price.

For the first time, pharmacy students are able to apply to undertake a two week voluntary work experience placement during the summer holiday period. This will provide a unique insight into how the NHS procures medicines for use in hospitals – and an understanding of the varied specialist pharmacy career opportunities at NHS National Services Scotland.

Based at the National Distribution Centre in Larkhall (reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed), students will have the opportunity to learn about the work of NSS and the varied specialist pharmacy careers across the organisation.

This opportunity is open to pharmacy undergraduate students entering their final year. Experience of working within a team and a proficiency in MS Excel are advantageous.

To apply, students should send a short summary of why they would like to work with us (250 words maximum) to Claire Steele.

The closing date for applications is Friday 17 March 2017.

For further information, please contact Claire Steele by telephone on 01698 794477 or Lindsay McClure on 01698 794522.
