NSS confirm the new national healthcare waste management contract award to Tradebe Healthcare.
National Healthcare waste management contract award
The new national healthcare waste management services framework agreement has been awarded to Tradebe Healthcare. This follows an extensive and pre-planned procurement process by National Procurement, a division of NSS. The new framework agreement commenced on 1 February 2019, and will provide services related to the collection, treatment and disposal of healthcare waste.
An implementation period will commence immediately. National Services Scotland (NSS) continues to work closely with NHS Boards, contractors, Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and the Scottish Government to ensure effective delivery of clinical waste management services throughout this implementation period.
National Procurement will take a key role in the management of the new arrangements for healthcare waste management services across NHS Boards in Scotland. There are several new requirements built into the new arrangements. This includes provision for national reporting and data management.
