National Healthcare waste management contract update

Contingency plans were introduced last year when Healthcare Environmental Services was no longer able to provide waste collection services to NHS Boards across Scotland. The plans are in place to ensure that there is no adverse impact on NHS Services and that public health is protected.

National Services Scotland (NSS) is working with Tradebe Healthcare National Ltd on the transition arrangements for the new National Healthcare waste management contract. Tradebe Healthcare National Ltd will adopt a phased introduction in their delivery of healthcare waste management services, commencing on 2 August. NSS will continue its support until such times as the new national healthcare waste management services are fully operational.
