NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) has today launched the NHS Scotland Effective Use of Stoma Support Garments for Parastomal Hernia Report and Action Plan.
The report, ratified by the Scottish Executive Nurse Director Group, is the result of a year-long review by the Ostomy Support Garment Short Life Working Group.
The working group of NHS Scotland stoma clinical nurse specialists worked with NSS National Procurement to review the quality of parastomal hernia care across Scotland.
The resulting report and action plan, which have been reviewed and approved by both the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at Scottish Government, will ensure that patients across NHS Scotland receive consistent advice regarding parastomal hernia prevention and management.
The Action Plan is now being rolled out across NHS Scotland with support from the Scottish Deputy Nurse Director Group.
If you have any questions regarding the Effective Use of Stoma Support Garments for Parastomal Hernia Report and Action Plan please get in touch with NSS National Procurement.
