NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) is sponsoring a CivTech challenge that invites businesses to provide innovative solutions to further accelerate and strengthen Scotland’s testing capability within the Test and Protect programme.
CivTech’s challenges attract dynamic partners who can drive creative, new and cost-effective solutions for public sector organisations.
As part of the challenge, NSS is asking how innovation in COVID-19 testing can help NHSScotland to support employers to ensure the health of their people. As laboratories begin to bring back other screening services, we’re seeking an effective and efficient way to deliver COVID-19 testing. We want a solution (or solutions) that better identifies who needs a test; speeds up the process of getting reliable samples; creates shorter turnaround times; and returns secure, accurate results faster.
The challenge is live and a notice is out on the Public Contracts Scotland website. Businesses can tender until the end of July.
After the closing date, subject matter experts sift through proposals. Six potential solutions will go forward to the next round. NSS, together with Scottish Government, will work in partnership with successful firms to ensure their innovations are developed and delivered as swiftly as possible in support of Scotland’s Test and Protect programme.
