As part of the work to transform the way in which radiology services are provided across Scotland, the Scottish Radiology Transformation Programme are this week launching the pilot of the Scottish National Radiology Reporting Service (SNRRS) Bank.
The SNRRS Bank has been developed to deliver additional reporting capacity across Scotland, providing a mechanism to allow both substantive staff and those not currently within the NHS, to undertake cross boundary reporting. The Scottish Radiology Transformation Programme (SRTP) team have been working closely with the Golden Jubilee National Hospital who have agreed to host the SNRRS Bank.
The new bank will recruit radiologists to take on cross health board reporting work facilitated through new IT connectivity currently being installed as part of the SRTP. Any health board connected to the national IT cross boundary system will be able to send exams to be reported by the SNRRS Bank. Currently most health boards already have the facility for reporters to report for the SNRRS Bank.
The SNRRS Bank will also reduce the requirement for boards to outsource to private providers and keep work within the NHS.
- We’re looking for consultant radiologists to join the SNRRS Bank Pilot. Email email@example.com or visit the Scottish Radiology Transformation Programme website for more information.
