The Scottish Urinary Tract Infection Programme (SUTIN)
SUTIN aims to achieve a cohesive approach for all urinary tract infection (UTI) reduction work in Scotland. The network includes representatives from a wide range of organisations across health and social care settings with a shared interest in UTI reduction. SUTIN also coordinates and shares resources on UTIs across Scotland, including the national hydration campaigns.
Urinary tract infections are the most common type of infection seen in acute and care settings in Scotland. Across Scotland, many UTI reduction resources have been developed to reduce these infections, both by national organisations as well as at local level. Examples include the adult hydration campaign and the children’s Think2drinkH2O campaign.
The purpose of SUTIN is to coordinate the sharing of these resources. The network also promotes the development of a community who are working within NHS and social care settings towards the reduction of UTIs across Scotland.
