Health threat surveillance

Undertaking the national surveillance of communicable diseases and health problems associated with environmental hazards.

We provide surveillance information through a network of laboratories, hospitals, NHS Boards and local authorities.

This surveillance data is anonymously shared with specialist agencies in the UK and internationally to identify and respond to threats posed by biological and non-biological hazards.

We also using surveillance data to monitor trend, gather intelligence and plan for services at a local and national level.
