We work towards improving vaccine uptake rates across childhood and adult preventable illnesses. This involves undertaking research leading to refinements to the programme for Scotland and the rest of the UK. We also lead on the impact of the programme in terms of a reduction in clinical illness and deaths and contribute to the cost effectiveness of programmes by academic partners.
We are also responsible for coordinating other health protection programmes, including the Scottish Government’s Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Framework (external link) and the Tuberculosis Action Plan for Scotland (external link).
