Registration - Public Dental Service (PDS)

Complete the following steps to register for an online account if you are a Public Dental Service dentist, NHS Board Clinical Director or Clinical Lead.

Step 1 Accessibility

Reports are only accessible over Scottish Wide Area Network (SWAN) connections; therefore, access is restricted to within your practice/health centre.

You cannot access your reports from home.

Step 2 Online access levels

There are two levels of access:

Dentist view

Dentists will have access to their own payment reports for each list number they own. They are not required to complete an online access form. Clinical Directors will complete on their behalf.

Clinical Director and Clinical Lead view

Access to reports relating to all PDS dentists within their NHS Board area.

Step 3 Online access forms

There are 3 occasions when you will be required to submit an online access form.

PDS dentist registration

We require notification of any dentists joining the Public Dental Service in your NHS Board. If the dentist comes from another NHS Board and has online access already, we still require a form to be submitted. They will not receive new log on details. The Clinical Director must complete form 1301.

Clinical Director registration

Caldicott Guardian authorisation is required to allow Clinical Directors access to the reports for the PDS dentists in their NHS Board area. The Caldicott Guardian must complete form 1302.

Clinical Lead registration

Clinical Director authorisation is required to allow Clinical Leads access to the reports for the PDS dentists in their NHS Board area. The Caldicott Director must complete form 1303.

What happens next

Once your online access has been set up you will receive two emails. These will come from ‘csd noreply@nhsnss.scot.nhs.uk ‘ or ‘noreply dis@nhsnss.cot.nus.uk’.

The first email will contain your username and the second will contain a temporary password. You will need to change the password and a link in the second email will direct you to where you can do this.
