Ordering will open on Thursday 27 August to allow GP practices, Vaccine Holding Centres and Community Pharmacies to place a ‘pre-order’ for the 2020/21 flu season. A communication will be issued by the Movianto Scottish Flu Team to advise when the system is live. Orders for vaccines should be placed on the Movianto online ordering system – Marketplace
Log-in details used in previous seasons remain valid and should continue to be used. If you have any issues with log-in arrangements or if you have new staff who require access to the system, please contact Movianto Customer Services on 01234 248 623 for assistance.
If you need to reset your password please click on the “Forgot Password?” link on the Marketplace log-in screen and follow the instructions on screen.
Each site can place subsequent orders during the season as required. The weekly delivery day for each practice is the same as last year i.e. if a practice’s 2019 delivery day was a Thursday then it will be a Thursday again this year. A copy of the OM Movianto delivery schedule is available here if you wish to check your delivery day.
Given the continued social distancing measures in place across Scotland and how these may potentially impact deliveries the first deliveries to health boards will be split across two weeks – w/c 14 September and w/c 21 September. The normal weekly delivery schedule will apply from the w/c 28 September. Please refer to the table below for dates for each health board.
Week Commencing 14 September 2020:
NHS Ayrshire and Arran, NHS Dumfries and Galloway, NHS Forth Valley, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, NHS Golden Jubilee and Scottish Ambulance Service.
Week Commencing 21 September 2020:
NHS Borders, NHS Fife, NHS Grampian, NHS Highland, NHS Lothian, NHS Orkney, NHS Shetland, NHS Tayside and NHS Western Isles.
Please note that the delivery schedule is subject to change. Up to date delivery schedules will be circulated by the Movianto Customer Service Team prior to your first delivery in September.
Allocations will be in place for each site in Scotland. The seasonal allocations are based on PHS data and the number of vaccines ordered by each site during the previous flu season plus an additional 10% to accommodate the expected increase in demand this season.
Orders will be reviewed against allocations daily. It will be possible to request a further supply of vaccines once the allocation for your site has been reached, subject to vaccine availability.
The following vaccines have been procured for the 2020/21 season:
- 65 and over - Adjuvanted trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (aTIV)
- At risk persons aged 18 to 64, including pregnant women, HCW and Social Care workers - Quadrivalent influenza cell culture vaccine (QIVc)
- Children under the age of 9 with contraindications to the live attenuated influenza vaccine - Quadrivalent influenza egg culture vaccine (QIVe)
QIVe for children who cannot receive the nasal spray vaccine
Please contact your local Vaccine Holding Centre to request.
Please view the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document which has been designed to help address any concerns or queries you may have. As some deliveries of the vaccine will be made by sub-contractors, this document also contains a list of the distribution companies that will deliver the vaccines to practices.
